Diazepam.

Diazepam can be recommended by your doctor if you have anxiety. This drug is also used for muscle spasms and always needs to be taken exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. The liquid form of diazepam should be taken with the help of a special dropper that is supposed to come with the medicine. Do not use a regular spoon for that – always make sure you measure the dose you need precisely. Taking more of diazepam can worsen the side effects but will not help you benefit more from the treatment. Your health care provider will need to know if you are taking any other medications besides diazepam - such as disulfiram, isoniazid, seizure medications, muscle relaxants, fluoxetine, cimetidine, digoxin, theophylline, tranquilizers, antihistamines, oral contraceptives, sleeping pills, ketoconazole, asthma, medications for depression, or sedatives. Mild side effects of diazepam can be any of the following symptoms: tiredness, changes in appetite, changes in sex drive, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, weakness, frequent urination, drowsiness, and dizziness. There is no need to report the mild side effects mentioned to your health care provider unless they become bothersome or severe.
